After the flood when I moved back into my parents house, I was looking for a desk narrow enough to fit between my bed and my closet to avoid moving the furniture in my room. I got a tri-fold craft desk from Michaels (not ideal at all) and I had a trash can under the left side. It’s hard to see because Sophia is standing in the way, but the base is in the middle, so if I wanted to put my legs down I had to straddle the desk. This meant that if I put my leg down, it would either end up in the trash can, or my leg would knock it down. If I knocked it down, I would have to squeeze my big head in the gap between my bed and the desk to pick everything up. This happened so often I got sick of it.
This is the tri-fold desk and you can see how the legs on the ends are at a 45 degree angle and how the bottom of the leg is a decent distance off the ground. My thought was I need to somehow get my trash bin on that stick that way it’s off the ground and I can finally have some leg room.
Original Design (just to get the job done)
When I designed the in the first prototype, I already knew that it wasn’t the final design because I’m too nitpicky when it comes to my own convenience. Having the piece on top of the garbage bag was inconvenient because then I would have to move the whole prototype just to change the garbage bag; remember I’m trying to avoid putting my big head under here. The garbage bag holder was perfectly fine I just needed to change the garbage bin holder.
This design allows me to keep both the garbage can and the 3D piece stationary, while also being able to change out the bag!
